Let mistake happen, for Better Learning…

We all make Mistakes, though we try hard to avoid them. When we are young we make more mistakes without thinking much and hence learn easily.

As we grow older we start avoiding mistakes as we can’t afford them then. But then we miss learnings through them as well  . Consequently we stop trying new too.

Mistakes bring loss  but   not trying new and misses in learnings are still  BIGGER  losses.

Making mistakes are usually linked with carelessness &  incompetency . But it is also linked with trying something new, exploration, experimentation, stretching capabilities, out of the box thinking …

So shall we start making mistakes?

Not exactly… but some times let mistake happen  for learning, while  trying something new, exploration, experimentation, stretching capabilities, out of the box thinking, working on creative idea …

Being smart grownup we can foresee possible mistakes and failure modes and make strategy to minimize loses or alternative gains (Innovative risk mitigation approach) and go for it…

But young children are still to develop that skill. Hence parents and concerned grownups around act for them and prevent any mistakes.

Hang on… is it  interfering, delaying  or preventing their learning?  Yes..

“Stubbornness” is a special quality which is more often demonstrated by genius! More often they are the one who take the world to next level.

  1. Connect with a Stubborn person: We accept and respect the special people with this quality. We have natural and innovative ways to get connected. It is more effective when conducted in groups.
  2. Observe and Discover hidden controlling points which can be tuned to manage Stubbornness.
  3. Choose one or two best controlling points to manage stubbornness.
  4. Create innovative plan to tune selected controlling points. Here plan offers opportunity (but does not compel) to participate for Schools, colleges, Parents, Employer’s employee welfare program, friends, close relatives
  5. Execute plan which involves marginal behavioral changes and approaches creating positive impact.
  6. Observe
  7. Evaluate. Go to step 2 to  refine.

Electrifying Magic of “Passing A Token of Appreciation” among teams!

Appreciation works as inspiring, encouraging force for the one receiving it. In workforce management appreciation of the staff is always critical tool. Appreciation of one may discourage others among team. This is a negative effect of appreciation.

Big challenges or responsibilities are always handled by a team. Team can be layered and cross functional spread across geographical region. Each one of the team contributes at its level and important to achieve the goal in its own way.

How one of them can be chosen as best? In a team synchronization is most important. Only one is doing best will not yield the result. Only one getting charged up by appreciation is not going to charge the whole team.

How about appreciation of whole team? Well sounds good…

But how about passing token of appreciation among team? Sounds better?

It starts with the best performer of the team from management’s view. On receiving token of appreciation that person is supposed to pass it to one of the team members who contributed best to make him\her do the best. Of course data of evidence or facts can be collected and evaluated. Let the token of appreciation be passed among the team. Let appreciation reward get multiplied by each pass. When the whole team gets covered in this game of “Passing the Appreciation”, it’s the BINGO!

As management, what are we gaining by this? It will result in strong team building. This highlights importance of working together. It will act as lubrication to enhance synchronization among team resulting into increase in efficiency.

I we look around, we realize machines are rapidly taking over human jobs. It started long back with first industrial revolution in west.

At first site it looks scary as it is cutting jobs of human resources.
